Therapy for Men in Bethesda, MD
Sometimes it’s just easier to talk to another guy.

How I Approach Therapy for Men
Every guy’s story is different, but a lot of us grew up with the same unwritten rules — don’t complain, don’t need too much, figure it out on your own, don’t talk about your feelings, etc. I didn’t invent a workaround to those rules. I lived inside them too, which is part of why therapy with me doesn’t feel like the kind you’ve probably pictured. That shared understanding of “the language of men” helps me see things through your eyes — and figure out, together, if there’s a smarter way through this than the one you’ve been using.
Men often reach out for therapy when…
Your relationship is on the rocks.
Whatever got you here, something between you and your partner needs attention, and you’re not sure how to fix it on your own. Many guys minimize this long past the point where their partner — or the obvious signs — have already said otherwise.
Work has stopped feeling like it matters.
You show up, you do the job, but the meaning behind it has quietly disappeared. Your instinct might be to fix this by working harder or changing jobs, but if neither works, it may be because the unhappiness is a symptom of a deeper discontent.
Anger keeps winning.
Short fuse, quick temper, or a slow burn that never fully goes away — it’s costing you more than you’d like to admit. Anger is rarely the real problem — it’s usually the easiest emotion to show when something underneath it feels harder to name,
Something’s off, and you can’t name it.
No single crisis, just a nagging sense that things aren’t right. That vague feeling is worth trusting, even without a clear meaning attached to it yet.
Someone else noticed before you did.
A partner, a friend, or family member said something about needing therapy — and it stuck with you more than you expected. That stickiness may be a sign that some part of you already knows they’re onto something.
Whatever brought you here, therapy for men starts with a conversation — in person at my Bethesda office,
or virtually wherever you are.
How I Work
Warm but direct
I’ll be straight with you even when it’s uncomfortable. Those difficult places are usually the ones where the best talks come from and the most progress gets made.
Insight meets action
We dig deep enough to understand, then we figure out what to do about it. Knowledge on it’s own doesn’t fix anything — it’s what you do with that newfound awareness that brings about real change.
Laughter is allowed
A bit of lightness at the right moment can make it easier to say or do the hard thing. Progress doesn’t require suffering through every minute of it. Being able to laugh at something is usually a sign you’re not stuck in it anymore
